The story revolves around Petthaperumal and Paandi in the village of Maaviduthukotai, Sivangangai. They both are a happily married couple for some time until the pressure of conceiving a baby falls on them and thereafter affect their emotional and physical bond. The societal stigma of not conceiving a baby is thrust on a woman. The fake masculine identity crisis thrust on a man. How as a married couple they overcome the society burden of back biting and the shame through various pressures from the closed circles to the outer circle.
